Conference Welcome

Welcome VAFEPA Community,

On behalf of the Virginia Association of Federal Education Program Administrators’ board, we are delighted to welcome you to the 25th Annual State Conference.

This conference is our first in-person conference since the pandemic began in 2020. As a board, we were planning for our October 2020 conference but  like the rest of the educational world, we had to pivot.  Planning for this conference has been fueled with our passion and purpose to support the academic and emotional success of Virginia’s preK through 12th grade students.

The work of each and every conference attendee does not go unnoticed. With the infusion of ESSER funding, supply chain disruptions, and staffing shortages, this group has played and continues to play a pivotal role in the support of students, teachers, administrators, support staff, parents, and the community. As we each work to close out not one, but two years of grants and ESSER II funds, we begin to see a small glimpse of light.

Our conference theme, Resilience to Redefine our Purpose, is fitting for where we are in this quest to support and improve the education of all students. We hope this conference provides each of you the time to reflect on your personal connection to the theme and how your work provides a positive impact on the educational journey of Virginia’s youngest stakeholders.
