As a school community, John Rolfe Middle has created a positive learning environment where students and teachers are Respectful, Responsible, and Safe and will strive to experience academic and social success every day, everywhere! Our school community takes on the Jaguar ROAR!
In the Technology and Engineering classes, we employ the Jaguar ROAR as:
I am RESPECTFUL and open-minded about the projects and engineering concepts we will be learning. I believe my participation and being a team player will help me be successful in this course. I understand that engineering technology will teach me about STEM concepts that I can use in all my classes. Being courteous and respectful to my teacher and classmates when they are speaking shows that I have self-control in every situation.
I will OVERCOME any challenges, ask for help, and be prepared to learn.
I will ACHIEVE success by following all instructions given by my teacher and any help that my classmates may offer. I will always follow all safety guidelines and will use all tools and equipment properly. I will be honest, work independently, and will put forth the best effort of my skills, talents, and abilities. I will ask thought-provoking questions that will spark creativity and ingenuity. As a result, I will acquire an engineering mindset for problem-solving and critical thinking.
I will REPEAT positive behaviors and consistently work hard to demonstrate the right attitude because it will build the right habits for success.
This form of positive-based management helps to engage students in a higher level of learning while being aware of their personal goals and obligations to themselves, classmates, and teachers. The following rules and consequences apply to my classes:
