She taught in Maryland before moving to Glen Allen and is certain that there is no school quite like Greenwood! She attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) and received both her bachelor's and master's degrees in Education. Her love for teaching began when she was fortunate enough to receive an internship with the Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. There, she learned the magic of helping children thrive on their curiosity, become sincerely empathetic, and discover their purpose and potential by appreciating their authentic selves. Mrs. Milwit believes in helping children understand that “what is mentionable is manageable,” and her goal for this year is to give her ‘Milwit Marvels’ the building blocks to form the highest and truest expressions of themselves. The word, “Marvel” is the universe in which superheroes live. It also means, “to wonder.” This school year, her little superheroes will be able to see themselves in everything they learn. They will ‘marvel’ at the amazing things they will be able to do by the end of the year and they will do it with a sense of belonging, lots of giggles, challenges, and encouragement. Outside of school, Mrs. Milwit is a fitness instructor at American Family Fitness and LOVES to root on her Steelers!
