AP Computer Science A

AP Computer Science A is an introductory college-level computer science course. Students cultivate their understanding of coding through analyzing, writing, and testing code as they explore concepts like modularity, variables, and control structures in Java programming. Prior coding experiences are helpful but not necessary. Algebra 2 should be completed prior to taking APCSA with B+ or higher.

*APCSA is recommended for Juniors and Seniors. Once you learn one programming language, you will find it much easier to learn a second programming language. since the problem-solving skills will be the same across all programming languages.
