If you are taking the Chemistry, Geometry, World History I, or VA & US History SOL, you will be testing on this date, so please do NOT sign up for sessions.
In addition to the sessions listed above, there will be a blood drive from 9:00am-3:00pm on Thursday, May 24. All students who are at least 16 years old and weigh 110+ lbs are eligible to donate. See Ms. Vogt at all lunches to sign-up to donate. Every donation saves three lives!

Session Descriptions
*For all sessions, no experience required, unless otherwise noted.*
Archery - Learn how to shoot a bow and arrow like a pro!
Introduction to Sign Language - Students will learn basic words and phrases in ASL (American Sign Language) and will be given the opportunity to practice with classmates.
Travel as Pilgrimage - Traveling is always exciting, but if done correctly, it can be life-changing. Learn how journal-ing and making minor adjustments to your itinerary can make your vacation life-changing.
Cooking 101: Making Vegetarian Stir Fry - Vegetarian food is delicious, too! Come learn how to cook a delicious vegetarian meal along with the knife skills necessary to prepare it.
Cooking 101: 5 Simple Meals - You don't need to be an experienced chef to make a delicious meal. Come learn a few simple recipes that anyone can master.
3D Printing Using TinkerCAD - Did you know our library has a 3D printer? Learn how to create your own 3D object using HCPS software and then print it!
Introduction to Programming Using Spheros - In the next ten years, there will be millions of unfilled jobs in the computer science industry. Come gain an introductory knowledge of computer programming using Sphero robots.
Escape Room - You're trapped in a random classroom. The only way out - solve puzzles and find clues to free yourself!
Central Virginia Food Bank (community service; off campus) - Students will travel to the Central Virginia Food Bank to help sort and pack nonperishable items. Participants must wear jeans and closed-toe shoes and will be doing physical labor, potentially including lifting items weighing up to 30 lbs. Participants eat an early lunch and stay at CVFB until 4:00 (missing afternoon classes), will need to get field trip permission forms signed, and will need to be able to drive themselves or get a ride from another student who is also participating. Only available for those age 16 and older.
Self-Defense - Let a Henrico County police officer and black belt teach you how to protect yourself.
Mindfulness - Learn to focus on what's important and let distractions fade into the background.
Plarn (community service) - Come make plarn! What's that, you ask? Plarn is plastic yarn made out of plastic grocery bags that is used by local non-profit organizations to make weather resistant mats, bags, etc., for RVA's homeless population.
Etiquette - Learn table manners and proper etiquette for a number of professional situations.
Yoga - Relax your mind and body with an introductory yoga session. Participants will be doing physical exercise and need to wear comfortable, stretchy clothing.
Senior Survey - Meet with your school counselor and complete a few end of the year things. Seniors only. Attendance at one Senior Survey session is mandatory for all seniors.
Job Fair - Need a summer job? There will be employers from a variety of local businesses accepting applications and doing interviews. You could have a job by the end of the day!
Outdoor Skills: Tying Knots - There's more to it that just double-knotting your shoelaces!
Outdoor Skills: First Aid - Learn about basic first aid and wound care in an emergent situation.
Outdoor Skills: Leave No Trace - Learn about how to be a good outdoorsman and about the importance of leaving the wilderness undisturbed.
Basketball - Participants may only select this session once per day.
Ping Pong - Participants may only select this session once per day.
Wiffleball - Participants may only select this session once per day.
