One of the most important goals here at Echo Lake is to provide a positive and safe learning environment for all of our students.   With that goal in mind, Echo Lake will be implementing a “House System” this year.  The purpose for this system is to build a cohesive and positive school community where students are valued and appreciated.  Students need to feel accepted and safe in order to learn.  By building a positive and caring community, we can accomplish this.  In house meetings and rallies, students will have the opportunity to be engaged in meaningful interactions across grade levels.  Included will be opportunities for leadership which will cultivate growth in communication skills.  Fostering each child’s sense of belonging and togetherness will help students have a stronger desire to attend school each day.  Students engaged in positive behaviors will improve academic achievement and social-emotional wellbeing. 

The House System will also serve as the school’s positive behavior support system.  Students will have an opportunity to earn incentive points for their house daily based on individual achievement in a variety of areas.
