One of the most common credos people are aware of when it comes to computers/electronics is that you don't want them to get wet. It usually ends with a fizzled sound, never to work again.
However in recent years, water cooling has been a premium way to keep your computer cool for those loooong gaming sessions without it overheating or increasing the wear on the processor.
One of our Day 2 students scoured the internet for months to find the right parts for his perfect gaming build. And this past week some of the interested and experienced students banded together to aid him. Together they got it all built from scratch and ready for his gaming event that weekend.
We're proud of what they've learned and accomplished. And as they head on to the next chapters in their lives, we're excited for all the future holds for them.

Creating endless opportunities for students to get REAL practical experiences.
Our program, while we don't have a larger hand in the structural component, we do have a part to play when it comes to structured cabling and wiring. This is installed in residential and commercial properties to create centralized distribution and access to Audio, Visual, Phone and Internet capabilities throughout.
Like an electrical panel/box, structured cabling systems have a centralized panel that all wires come in through for easy distribution of signals (A/V, Phone, Internet) throughout the home.

Recently our second year, CST2, students have been putting their knowledge to work creating their own network cables. They used specialized tools like wire strippers and crimpers to expose the internal wires, arrange them into an industry accepted configuration and then slide and crimp the connector to the ends. Students then connected devices and equipment, creating their own small networks.
Working together as a group they knew the goals/tasks and had to solve issues with connectivity and sharing files/information between connected devices on a network.
We were proud to see them hit walls and work through them by researching or asking the right questions. Through perseverance and critical thinking, anyone can succeed
