Ken Pritchard was born in the late 1940s. He went to the boys and girls club (Was only boys club) from the age of ten. He volunteered and helped with football for a couple of years until he took over the running of the club in 1987. He became the owner of it after Mrs Hammond who originally took over from Mr Robert.
Ganed Ken Pritchard ar ddiwedd y 1940au. Aeth i'r clwb bechgyn a merched (Was only boys club) o ddeg oed. Gwirfoddolodd a bu'n helpu gyda phêl-droed am ychydig o flynyddoedd nes iddo ddechrau rhedeg y clwb yn 1987. Daeth yn berchennog arno ar ôl Mrs Hammond a gymerodd yr awenau gan Mr Robert yn wreiddiol.
The Boys and Girls Club originally started as a tin shed when it was founded in 1936. It was set up by a man called Mr Robert then a lady called Mrs Hammond took over. It was originally just a boy's club. Football was very popular. About 20 years ago it changed to a Boys and Girls club.
The future of Boys and Girls Club is looking very good for it to carry on. As Ken's son who is also called Ken will probably carry on after the death or retirement of Ken Pritchard. Ken is actually a good snooker/pool player. He has been credited with developing the organisation into a state-of-the-art community facility.
When Ken came over to our school he discussed about the history etc.It was also some people that had some questions about the Club that he answered for us.Every thing we have talked about on this website we learnt from Ken.
In 2017 Ken Pritchard received an award for his achievements. You can read about it here...
