The tower includes 5 stories of stairs. Each level provides a concrete floor base and means of access through windows. Screens on windows are easily removable and required to be put back in place when training is finished. Window sills also provide rope protection with installed metal plating over the brick sills. There is a standpipe / sprinkler system installed that is for visual purpose only and not available for water pressurization. Examples of training this area can be used for includes ladder training, physical fitness, hoisting and lowering tools, aerial training, RIC, patient packaging and moving, and tactical exercises.
The top of the tower has access from an interior spiral staircase (key locked). The rooftop has anchor points that can be used for rappelling (see SOP regarding certification needed), high-angle rope rescue, patient movement (spiral staircase adds a new twist), and aerial operations.
Live fire is not permitted in this area!
