We have so many different ensembles running, from Rock School to Choirs and from Concert Band to our national award winning Jazz Orchestra. Some other smaller ensembles are formed by students who just want to play together depending on their instruments and interests -there really is something for every musician. This year was an amazing recovery year too for our Concert Band. They were unable to play together during Covid, but belted out some amazing polished performances, experienced KS5 students often sitting at the same desk as a Year 7 or 8 just starting their journey. Music Tech club is open to KS3 students - you don't need to already play an instrument, just to have a strong interest in getting hands-on with making and recording music with tech. The club will run as a series of workshops initially to introduce you to the skills - if you'd like to do more, there is the opportunity to continue attending beyond these to work on longer personal projects. Concerts and gigs run all year round with rehearsals varying from lunchtimes to after school, but Christmas and the Summer Terms are definitely the two peaks in the year! Performances take place in a range of venues from the Poly at Falmouth (you can see The Disciples of Funk playing here in the picture) to the great acoustics of some of our churches out in the community. We have outdoor performances and are appearing at Helstonbury. Keep an eye on our events diary and support your friends if you're not taking part!

Work with our specialist peripatetic (visiting) music teachers to learn an instrument you've always wanted to try. We offer tuition in trumpet/cornet, trombone, horn, euphonium, tuba, flute, clarinet, saxophone, oboe, classical guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, drums, piano, violin, viola, cello and singing. The Music Block is a friendly and amazing facility with fantastic individual teaching and practice rooms to hold lessons in. We are so lucky to have have such an inspiring team of dedicated instrumental teachers who will support you all the way in your journey to reach your musical goals, whether those are graded exams or just enjoying playing with others.
