We are here to assist students on an individual level, in groups, as well as through classroom guidance lessons. Our training aligns with the American School Counseling Association's national standards to promote student success in three domains: academic, career, and personal/social. Our job is to advocate for kids and help them feel comfortable in the educational setting and to help them feel successful. If you have any questions or would like to visit, give us a call or send us an email.

Hi there!
My name is Teige Kolis (she/her) and I am one of the school counselors in Building 3 (4th-6th grade). I am originally from Minnesota and I have lived in Missoula since 2017. I received my Master’s in Counselor Education from the University of Montana and National Certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC).
I love working with students using strengths-based interventions to support social-emotional, academic, and career development. I am so excited to be joining the Hellgate Elementary community and getting the opportunity to get to know your students!
Outside of school, I enjoy trail-running, backpacking, paddle boarding, and reading. Feel free to reach out to me anytime! Looking forward to connecting with you!

Welcome!
I am one of the school counselors in Building 3 (4th-6th grade).
I grew up in Gardiner, Montana. My parents both worked in Yellowstone Park so spent a great deal of time exploring and I developed a love for the outdoors.
I moved to Missoula in 2008 to attend college and I graduated from the University on Montana in the spring of 2014 with my Master's Degree in Counselor Education.
I began my career here at Hellgate Elementary that fall. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from and be supported by this awesome district. I enjoy getting to know all students and help them through whatever their day may bring. Every student is a unique individual with so much to offer our school community and I love getting to watch them all grow and learn. I hold a National Certification from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) and I am a member of both the national (ASCA) and state (MSCA) counseling organizations.
Outside of school, I spend my time with family, being a mom to my two children, and exploring Montana. I love to ski, hike, and be on the river. Feel free to reach out anytime, I look forward to getting to know you!
Note: Requests to see counselors will only be seen during normal school hours. If you are in need of immediate assistance outside of school hours, please talk to a trusted adult. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency call 911 or go to the ER.
