Hello, my name is Lisa Birnbaum. I am the School Counselor in Building 1. I have worked at Hellgate Elementary since 2002! During my time at HES I have held both School Counseling and School Psychology positions. I have had the opportunity to work with students pre-K through 8th grade.

My training aligns with the American School Counseling Association's national standards to promote student success in three domains: academic, career, and personal/social. My job is to advocate for ALL kids. I strive to help create a school climate that is welcoming, comfortable and respectful. This will be done on an individual level, small group level, and through classroom guidance lessons. I will do my best to be actively present throughout your child's day by means of recess duties, lunch duties, and providing assistance in the classroom. If you have any questions or would like to visit, please feel free to reach out by either phone or email. I am happy to discuss any concerns or struggles that your child may be facing. I look forward to meeting you in the near future.

When I am not at school I love spending time with my family, including my two dogs! We enjoy hiking, skiing, mountain biking, cooking and traveling. My favorite way to relax is with a good cup of coffee and a book
