Google for Education teacher certification is a way to demonstrate mastery of the free suite of versatile Google Workspace tools that teachers have at their disposal. By learning the ins and outs of various Google Workspace tools, teachers are empowered for find creative and innovative ways of improving student learning.
There are two level of Google for Education certification.
Level 1 focuses teacher attention on proficiency with Google tools in the classroom and engaging students.
Level 2 focuses on advancing the skills learned in Level 1 certification program. Successful completion of the Level 1 certification program is a prerequisite for the Level 2 program.
Teachers will receive an appropriate amount of Professional Growth Points (PGPs) for completing the certification programs, including successful certification (approximately 15 per program). In addition, teachers will also receive a stipend of $250 after verifying successful completion of the Level 2 certification. This may be $250 after verifying successful completion of the Level 2 program or a portion of the $250 paid out after verifying successful completion of the Level 1 program and the bulk being paid out after verifying successful completion of the Level 2 program.
Training sessions for Level 1 certification will begin Spring 2022 with training sessions for Level 2 beginning Fall 2022. Teachers may, if they desire, complete these certifications on the their own without attending training sessions.
