I am excited to be in a position with MSD of Boone Township to guide teachers as they make instructional decisions to better prepare students for 21st century learning and beyond. I have been an advocate and voice for instructional technology for many years.
I have been conducting instructional technology training for MSD of Boone Township for several years, specializing in Google tools and technology inclusive instructional models. As one of the members of the district technology team that first began investigating the transition to becoming a 1:1 school, I have been an integral part of the technology decision making process. I have also presented at a number of IDOE Summer of eLearning events and served on the local instructional technology collaborative, eLeadNWI.
One of my primary responsibilities in my first two years as MSD of Boone Township's Instructional Technology Coach will be to help teachers train for and obtain their Google for Education Level 1 and Level 2 teacher certifications. I have been both a Level 1 and Level 2 certified teacher and a Google for Education certified Trainer.
I believe that students and teachers now live in a time when the driving question behind instructional technology decisions is no longer "what can I do?" but rather "what do I want to do?" There is no shortage of instructional technology tools out there. Once we know what we want to do, we can find the ones that do it and decide which ones suit us best.
