Welcome Statement

We are enriched by diversity in race, ethnicity, religious background, marital status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical and mental ability, and socioeconomic situation.

We welcome people with diverse viewpoints, believing that our congregation is called to embrace and learn from one another.

A Place of Refuge

Hebron Mennonite is named after one of the cities of refuge in the Bible. It is our hope that those who walk through our doors will indeed find a safe place to worship and a loving community with which to grow in faith.

All who would follow Jesus are invited into full participation in the life and ministries of our church, including membership, baptism, marriage, and both lay and pastoral leadership. Our congregation is a part of the Supportive Communities Network of publicly affirming Mennonite and Church of the Brethren churches.

Mennonite?

Yes, we are Mennonites, though not the sort of Mennonites who dress in plain clothes. For us, being Mennonite means things like:

Discipleship: not just believing in Jesus but following Jesus in everyday life
Peacemaking and non-violence: as Jesus taught and demonstrated
Community: interpreting the Bible and discerning the Spirit's movement as a group

Mission Statement

Our mission is to practice and proclaim the good news of Jesus Christ and to invite people into a growing relationship with God and the church.

Affiliation

Our congregation is part of Atlantic Coast Conference and Mennonite Church USA.
