Course Description:
This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the foundations, principles, and structures of government at the national, state, and local levels, with a particular focus on the Texas government. Students will explore the U.S. Constitution, the political process, and the rights and responsibilities of citizens in a democratic society. Topics include the branches of government, federalism, civil rights, political parties, the electoral process, and public policy.
Standards Alignment: This course aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for Social Studies.
