Our HEB ISD hybrid program offers a flexible learning experience that combines in-person and online instruction. Students attend classes on campus two days a week and engage in independent learning online for the remaining three days. With the support of a dedicated teacher, students will utilize Canvas for both in-class and online coursework. This unique approach is designed to equip students with the skills and flexibility needed for success beyond high school. By emphasizing practical life skills such as accountability, time management, critical thinking, problem-solving, self-motivation, communication, and teamwork, our program prepares students to thrive in college and their future careers.
Economics
Hybrid Economics, an innovative high school course that seamlessly integrates remote learning with traditional classroom experiences. This course is designed to give students economic literacy as consumers in the economic system. It is a study of basic principles and theories with emphasis on helping develop competencies in the application of economic knowledge to daily functions and decision-making. Essentials and benefits of the free enterprise system will be studied.
English IV
Hybrid English IV, an innovative high school course that seamlessly integrates remote learning with traditional classroom experiences. English IV continues the integration of literature, composition, language and reading. The literary emphasis is on British literature including a study of the origins and development of the English language; unique and written traditions; major authors, periods, and works; and the cultural attitudes and customs of the people. Composition activities are intended to develop a greater fluency and flexibility in writing in the regular classroom and in the computer-writing center.
Health
Hybrid Health, an innovative high school course that seamlessly integrates remote learning with traditional classroom experiences. Course content provides personal safety, drugs and drug abuse, risky behaviors, infectious and non-infectious diseases, HIV/AIDS and other STD, consumer health, first-aid, stress management, personal fitness and nutrition. These studies focus on individual health status, practices, attitudes, interest and knowledge
Health Science
An asynchronous Health Science course designed for self-driven learners. You’ll dive deep into medical terminology—prefixes, suffixes, word roots, anatomical terms, and clinical vocab—to build a solid foundation in healthcare language. The course covers core areas like diagnostics, therapeutic services, health informatics, and basic lab skills. This is a fully asynchronous course, you will be responsible for managing your time, completing readings, quizzes, and hands‑on modules.
Professional Communication
Hybrid Professional Communications, an innovative high school course that seamlessly integrates remote learning with traditional classroom experiences. This course will help students develop the effective communication skills necessary for successful participation in professional and social life. Professional Communication blends written, oral, and graphic communication in a career-based environment.

Hybrid classes offer a unique blend of in-person and online learning. Students will meet on campus twice a week for interactive sessions with their instructor. The remaining three days will be dedicated to independent study, supported by online resources and materials accessible through Canvas.
Course Expectations and Policies
To ensure success in hybrid classes, students must:
Maintain a minimum six-week average of 70; and
Limit unexcused absences to no more than three.
