What is student view?
You can experience your course from a student's perspective by using Student View. This feature creates a Test Student in your course, and it comes enabled in your Course Settings.
With Student View, you can see your course as students do. You can participate in discussions, submit assignments, check grades, interact with different course elements like people, pages, syllabus, quizzes, and calendar.
Certain features like attendance, conferences, conversations, collaborations, and more don't work in Student View. You'll only see what you permit your students to see.
Important things to note about student view
Remember that you can reset Test Student data, but interactions involving other students, like discussion replies, can't be removed. Even if you remove the Test Student, data related to interactions with other students will be kept.
Keep in mind:
Each course has its own Test Student account.
Test Student activities don't affect course analytics.
You can't view private student conversations.
Don't use Student View to test MasteryPaths in beta or test environments.
After activating Student View, the Test Student appears in Gradebook and SpeedGrader, added to all course sections. To remove it, remove the Test Student from section enrollments.
For New Quizzes, use the preview feature, not Test Student, to avoid affecting reports.
