What are they?
The Course Navigation Menu is a series of links on the left side of your course that help you and your students access different course areas. The Course Navigation Menu is always visible on its respective pages.
Why is it important to manage them?
To simplify the user experience, teachers want to minimize the amount of links shown on the Navigation column. This will prevent confusion for the student when navigating your course and make them more successful. Students only need to have access to the links that will help them navigate the active parts of your course.
Which buttons do my students need?
The navigation links you provide for your students will vary based on your grade level, content, and course set up. The standard navigation tools recommended for student view are:
Modules
Syllabus
Assignments
Announcements
The "Home" link cannot be removed, but you CAN customize where the home link leads to.
