Dr. Cantu has been teaching in the public schools for six years and this is her fifth year at Central Junior High. She earned her Doctorate of Musical Arts and Master's of Music from the University of Michigan. She earned her Bachelor's of Music Education from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. Prior to teaching, Dr. Cantu performed on the operatic stage, and her love of excellent vocal technique is paramount in her teaching. Since she has been at Central Junior High, the varsity and non-varsity choirs have received numerous Sweepstakes at UIL and they plan to continue that standard this year!
Mrs. Stark is pleased to be returning to CJH for her 3rd year. With a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from the University of North Texas, she taught Middle School Choir in Southlake before earning her Master's Degree in Vocal Pedagogy from Texas Woman's University, and has been teaching voice in and out of the public schools for the last 20 years. She brings a passion for cultivating the changing voice, and hopes to be an asset to CJH's thriving choral program.
