A beginning choir for 7th grade boys. This group will learn basic music literacy and vocal production, develop sight singing skills and musicality, and sing a variety of styles of music that are suited to their specific vocal ranges and technical skills. Choir members are eligible for participation in 7/8 All Region Choir, Solo & Ensemble contest, as well as participating in the three annual choir concerts, and UIL Choir Contest.
A non-audition group for 8th and 9th grade boys interested in developing their singing skills. All new 8th and 9th grade boys to choir take this class, as well returning 8th and 9th grade boys who still need more basic music skill development. This group will also learn basic music literacy and vocal production, develop sight singing skills and musicality, and sing a variety of styles of music that are suited to their specific vocal ranges and technical skills. An audition choir for 8th and 9th grade boys with more advanced skills. This group of young men meet during the school day as well as at least one before- or after-school rehearsal per week because they form the Varsity Mixed Choir with the Varsity Women. The members of this choir have strong musical skills and the class moves at a fast pace. They sing a variety of literature that cover various styles. These choir members are strongly encouraged to participate in the 7/8 All Region Choir, 9/10 Honor Choir, Solo & Ensemble contest, as well as participating in the three annual choir concerts, and UIL Choir Contest.
