Please keep your student home if they are sick and call the school about their absence.  When your child is ill, please follow these rules as to when they can return. Thank you for helping to keep everyone well. * Fever: Fever free for 24 hours. If temperatures is 100 degrees or greater the child must stay home until fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication (Tylenol or Motrin). * Vomiting - students should remain home until vomiting has stopped and student is consuming

a regular diet.

* Diarrhea - students must be diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use of suppressing medications. Diarrhea is defined as 3 or more episodes of loose, watery stool in a 24 hour period.

* Strep Throat - student may return to school 24 hours after the 1st dose of antibiotics are given.

Medications at school: Medication can not be given at school without a Medication Administration Form filled out by the doctor and signed by the parent. Please do not send medication in your students lunchbox or backpack to school. It will be brought to the nurses office.

Temporary Prescription Medications (i.e. antibiotics, prescription eye drops, and temporary pain medication) may be administered for up to 10 days with a parent

signature and discharge instructions from the prescribing physician or labeled prescription bottle.

Please make sure your phone numbers are updated with the school. When students become suddenly ill or injured at school, it is essential that we have current phone numbers. Please keep the nurse informed of significant changes in your child’s health. By communicating your child’s special health and safety needs to us, we can ensure a safer and healthier school year.
