BIM IA/B

Business Information Management is a full year course that gives students a working knowledge of computers and prepares them to be proficient in business applications using the 2016 Microsoft Office Suite.  Completion of this course allows students to be competitive in the business industry and obtain the employability skills they will need to obtain and maintain a job.  Upon completion of the Word, PowerPoint and Excel units students will take the Microsoft Office Specialist certification test.  The MOS certification test is free and students who pass the test can list this certification on their resumes to increase their opportunities of obtaining employment or college scholarships.

CLASSLINK

Access to all student resources is now being offered through ClassLink for students in BIM 1.  Students can log into their ClassLink account from home and use it to log into thier textbooks, SAM, and HAC.  Students should open Chrome and use the  ClassLink link on either the HEBISD website or the Bedford Junior High website.  It will be necessary to add the ClassLink extension to Chrome the first time it is used .   


Textbook and Online Resource

BIM I utilizes the New Perspectives Microsoft® Office 365 & Office 2016 Introductory as the textbook for our curriculum.  The textbook also provides an online resource for students that includes an electronic copy of the textbook and access to online assignments and test.  Students will register for access to SAM, after registration students will access SAM using their ClassLink App for SAM or by logging in manually at sam.cengage.com.

Grading Template

The BIM course is a non-weighted course and uses the following grading template:

 Category A (Major Grades):  50%

Category B (Minor Grades):  50%

Course Outline

Students will progress through the curriculum in the sequence below.  The time to complete each unit will vary depending on depth of instruction and student mastery.
