2nd Grade Social Studies

In second grade, students expand their understanding of local and national communities. They study significant historical figures, landmarks, and holidays. The TEKS introduce more detailed geographic skills, including map reading and the use of globes. Students also explore the roles of producers and consumers and basic economic concepts such as needs and wants, goods and services.
