Yes, not all schools offer grade 10 health care. Grade 11 TPJ3 and TOJ4C do not have prerequisites. In order to take TPJ4, you must have taken TPJ3.
You will attend all health care classes in one semester in grade 11. This allows any non-TAB students to take all the courses, and return to their home school. While at TAB, you will get all your certificates and attend most of the trips. THe other 4 courses in grade 11 will be at your home school.
No! The SHSM program is free to take. The only thing throughout the program you will need to pay for are scrubs. Scrubs are used for when we practice skills in the Health Clinic.

As soon as possible. It is important to have the application completed before picking courses for next year. Application can be found under the application page on the website. However, it can even be done later in the year, but if the program is full, you may be put on the waitlist. The school board wants to know how many are in the program by early February so that planning for classes can begin.
Yes! All bussing is provided within the region of Oakville. You may be issued a transit bus pass, or join a school bus route that already exists.

We cover a wide range of careers in the health care SHSM. There is also a career portion of the course where we explore what you are interested in. Some career examples are: therapist, psychologist, physiotherapy, nurse, doctor, paramedic, respiratory therapist, mid-wife, pharmacist, dentistry, social work, lab technician (including research, ultrasound, x-ray...) and veterinary. We learn many different body systems including (but not limited to) cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal.
Yes, some universities offer scholarships, bursaries, first year credits and more. However, it does not guarantee that you will get into the program of your choice.
The SHSM program is for students in grade 11 and 12. MOST students apply for the SHSM program in grade 10, so they complete their health care credits in grade 11. You are considered in the SHSM program for both grades (11 and 12), however you will only take the courses in one semester, usually grade 11.
You will take grade 11 health care (TPJ3), grade 12 health care (TPJ4)and grade 12 child development and gerontology (TOJ4C). The fourth course you take while at TAB can be any credit (English, math, etc). After the semester is complete, you return to your home school.
