Your Task:
- Choose a guitarist that you would like to learn more about or would like to share with the class
- You are going to learn a lot about this person so make sure you choose wisely
- Each student in the class needs to choose a different guitarist
One Page Handout/Presentation
- You need to make a one page handout about your guitarist, pictures included
- Information that you need on the handout:
- DOB,
- History
- Favorite Guitar(s)
- Gear
- Bands or groups they’ve been in
- Great accomplishments
- Influences
- Techniques or styles they are known for
- Other cool info
- You may choose to print this out and I will photocopy enough for the class, or do it as an electronic presentation (Slides, prezi, powerpoint, pdf etc.)
Musical Examples:
- You must find and play two musical examples (or videos) of your guitarist in action.
- Try to find two examples that display something different about their playing.
- You don’t need to play the whole example, just enough for us to get the picture.
Learn and Demonstrate:
- You must learn a song or part of a song by this guitarist and perform it for the class.
- Remember to challenge yourself, if you have been playing for a long time you will probably want to learn the whole song, including a solo, if there is one.
- If you are new to the guitar learn and demonstrate as much as you can.
- If there is a technique that the guitarist is known for, it would be nice if you incorporated it.
