- Students will be asked to sing three pieces of contrasting tempos and genres in a recital type of performance, either during the day or after school.
- One of these songs must be a Classical (RCM type piece) the second a Jazz song (with improvisation) and the third a Pop Song of their choice.
- The performance of these pieces will be judged on the basis of technique, interpretation, performance skills and overall presentation.
- It is imperative that students demonstrate proper use of class time while learning the material in order to exhibit the proper skills required to prepare music for a performance.
- Songs do not need to be memorized but need to demonstrate thorough preparation and professionalism

Jazz Selection:
- You may choose any song that fits into the jazz genre as deemed by Mr. Foster. However, you must have proper sheet music of your song so that either Mr. Foster or Mr. Maule can accompany you on your performance day.
- Below is a list of songs that Mr. Foster has copies of. This is a safer way to ensure that you have the sheet music. You should listen to different versions of the songs to help you choose and to help you learn the melody. Use Youtube as your tool.

- You may choose any pop song of any genre but it must have been written post 1950. However, you must make sure you have not performed it in either grade 11 or 12 vocals classes.
- As always make sure you have a track or a way of accompaniment. Acapella songs are not accepted.
