Student Success
Student Success
Student Success initiatives are actions and strategies that focus on improving graduation rates by:
● supporting transitions (into grade 9, between grades, to post-secondary),
● focusing on education and career/life planning (Grade 7 Career Program and HDSB Pathways programs), and
● providing individualized attention and support (in-risk students).
It is never too early to start thinking about high school. There are many schools and programs students can apply too. DDW's home school is White Oaks Secondary School, where all students from DDW can attend high school. However, students can also apply to other regional programs, like the IB and I-STEM programs that run at different high schools. Use the links on this page to explore the options and find out more information. You can also ask your homeroom teacher or contact the schools below directly.
You may also contact me if you have any questions.

My Blueprint is an online portfolio where students can:
keep records of their work to see their progress from year to year
self-reflect on their learning styles and preferences
create a portfolio of their interests, abilities and skills (for future resume writing in highschool or beyond)
plan their high school courses and pathways after graduation from highschool (work, college, university, apprenticeships)
To login and see what your student in grades 1-8 is collecting in their portfolio click on the link www.myblueprint.ca/halton and then click on the green School Account Log In button. Students can use their regular HDSB username and password information to enter the program.
Pathways helps develop learning opportunities and programs in such a way to value all learners, all choices and all destinations.
The goal of Pathways K-12 is to provide learners with a variety of engaging learning opportunities including:
contextualized learning experiences that incorporate real world situations,
facilitating the development of learners who know themselves (including the ability to identify their own strengths, accomplishments and competencies)
creating a plan to work toward goals, and future education and career opportunities.
There are many choices for continued learning and skill development after high school. Check out the Pathways programs HDSB offers: http://www.haltonpathways.ca
