Geography and History

Students investigate both renewable and non-renewable energy sources and how they are extracted around the world. Different techniques and their environmental / social impacts are analyzed and debated.

Students work in small groups to analyze the location, imports, exports, and crises of various countries around the world. Expansion of international knowledge is a primary goal of this project as we consolidate our knowledge on natural resource extraction. 

Students begin learning about French and English colonial powers, how they changed the landscape of Canada and their impact on the Indigenous peoples already living in Canada. Students will recognize the justification of colonialism through the Doctrine of Discovery.
