Culinary Program


Students will develop food preparation skills. The focus will be the development of healthy food habits, meal planning, safe handling of food, utensils and equipment.

In this course, you will be expected to provide evidence that you can:

· Locate and operate cooking utensils, using the utensils and measuring tools appropriately to prepare a simple recipe;

· Decide on the ingredients to create a recipe or a simple menu;

· Identify and use various kitchen appliances;

· Understand what to do in case of fire or an accident in the kitchen;

· Understand the importance of cleanliness in food preparation in the kitchen;

Nutritional Meal Planning;

· Knows four basic food groups;

· Knows how to prepare a grocery list;

· Demonstrate understanding of teamwork in the kitchen.
