Acton Achievers
The Acton achievers ceremony is a chance to celebrate the amazing students at Acton District School. We take this time to recognize those who’ve worked hard, shown leadership, made a difference, or grown in big ways this year. It’s about more than just good grades; these awards highlight all kinds of achievements from school spirit to personal growth. We're proud to honour the students who help make Acton such a great place to learn and grow. Congrats to all our Bearcat achievers!
Athletic Banquet
This year marks the second annual athletic banquet, a special evening dedicated to celebrating the talent, dedication and sportsmanship of our Bearcat athletes. This banquet recognizes the hard work of our teams and individuals who have gone above and beyond throughout the year. This year's awards presented include team MVPs as well as awards for Junior and Senior Male and Female Athletes of the year. One of the most meaningful awards of the evening is the Darryl McCallum Award. This award is given to an athlete who consistently demonstrates great respect towards coaches and teammates. They exemplify a strong work ethic both on and off the field. We are proud to recognize and celebrate all of our athletes for their commitment, perseverance, and Bearcat pride.
Grad Breakfast
The Grad Breakfast is a special way to kick off the celebrations for our graduating class. It’s a time for grads to come together, share some laughs, enjoy a great meal and look back on all the memories they’ve made at Acton District School. This morning is all about celebrating how far you’ve come, the friendships you’ve built and the exciting journey ahead. It's a small way for staff and the school community to say congratulations and thank you for being such an important part of Acton. We're proud of you grads and enjoy your breakfast!!

Pride Month is a time to celebrate the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and honor its history. Its a time to recognize the ongoing fight for equality and inclusivity held every June. Pride traces its roots back to the Stonewall Uprising of 1969 when 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals in New York City were tired of enduring harassment, discrimination and police violence. They stood up and demanded to be seen and heard. That moment sparked a movement that has grown into a global celebration of identity, resilience and love. While Pride is filled with vibrant parades, flags, and joyful expression its purpose runs deeper. It’s a reminder that many in the 2SLGBTQIA+ community still face challenges simply for being themselves and that the fight for full equality, safety and respect is far from over. Pride Month invites all of us whether we identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ or as allies to reflect on the importance of acceptance and to take action in building a more inclusive world. It encourages us to learn from the past, listen to the voices that have been silenced and celebrate the beauty of living authentically. It also reminds us that showing up, speaking out and standing in solidarity can make a real difference whether it’s through education, advocacy or simply creating space for others to be themselves. Pride is a powerful reminder that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and love. By celebrating pride we affirm that diversity is something to be embraced not feared and that when we uplift one another we all move forward.

Last week, the Foods class planned and hosted the Fun Food Fair, an event designed to educate students and staff about food security and its impact on our community. The fair featured delicious food prepared by students, interactive games centered around the theme of food sustainability, and even live animals to help offer perspective on where our food really comes from.
One of the highlights of the day was meeting the infamous Carl, Arianna McGill’s beloved pet pig, who we learned loves to snuggle. The event was not only informative but also a fun and memorable experience for everyone involved.
