A fever is defined as a body temperature of 100°F or higher without the use of fever-reducing medication. Students must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of such medication before returning to school. Please note that body temperature tends to be lower in the morning and may rise later in the day.
If your child has been diagnosed with a communicable illness such as strep throat, pink eye (conjunctivitis), bronchitis, Fifth disease, Coxsackie virus, ringworm, pinworms, mononucleosis, or any other contagious condition, please notify the school nurse by phone or email. A note from your child’s healthcare provider is required for your child to return to school.
Please ensure the registration packet (for new students) or the re-enrollment packet (for returning students) is completed accurately and thoroughly.
If there are any changes to your contact information, please notify the main office or school nurse immediately.
Make sure the cell phone number(s) provided for emergency contact are active and that the phone is turned on during school hours.
Anyone listed as an emergency contact must be readily available to pick up your child if you cannot be reached. If the individual is unfamiliar to school staff, they will be asked to present a valid photo ID for verification.
Additionally, please list any prescription medications and dosages your child takes outside of school hours. Inform the school nurse promptly if there are any updates or changes.
Lice must be reported immediately. Prompt reporting to the school nurse helps prevent the spread by allowing the rest of the class to be checked for additional cases.
Emergency contact availability: Please ensure that the individuals listed as emergency contacts are available to pick up your child if you cannot be reached. If the designated person is unfamiliar to school staff, they will be asked to present identification.
Medications taken outside of school: Indicate any prescription medications and dosages your child takes outside of school hours. Notify the school nurse of any changes to this information.
