Lowry High School

School Counselor

Dana Peters

Hi all!  My name is Dana Peters and I am in my 7th year as a school counselor at Albert M. Lowry High School. I have been with Humboldt County School District for 22 years working at Winnemucca Junior High School and French Ford Middle School previous to taking the job at Lowry.  I started in the position of LHS Career Center Coordinator and quickly earned a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Counseling.  Our LHS counseling team has worked hard to make the "Todd Milton Memorial Counseling Center" a welcoming place for all our students, parents and staff. I am also involved in the Lowry High Softball Program and currently serve as the Varsity Assistant Coach specializing in developing pitchers.  After 20 years in the district, I still love my job, the students I work with, the parents I meet and the athletes I coach.

School Counselor

Jessica Mayo

Hi, my name is Jessica Mayo and I am one of the School Counselors at Lowry High School. I am starting my 5th year as a School Counselor and love what I do. I chose to become a School Counselor because teenagers are FUN and I'm always learning from them. I have been blessed in my time in Winnemucca to also be surrounded by many mentors whom I've learned from, and continue to learn from.  Helping young adults through every life change that teenage years can bring is a passion of mine and why I love what I do!

Winnemucca is where I have chosen to call home and have been living back here for about 10 years. I live with my husband, two daughters, three dogs, and (someday) goats, chickens, and cows. We are also surrounded by both of our many siblings, parents, and grandparents. We enjoy Lowry High School sporting events, camping, gardening, reading as a family, and hosting large gatherings in our home.

School Social Worker

Jeanette Montero

Hello everyone, my name is Jeanette Montero. I grew up in Hermiston, Oregon but have been in Nevada for over 25 years. I completed my undergraduate at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande, Oregon. Thereafter, I received my masters in school social work from the University of Kansas. I have been with Humboldt County School District for 7 years along with my therapy dog, Gracie. It has always been a dream to share my love of animals with our community and having Gracie at Lowry brings the students and staff a great level of comfort and emotional support. I find that animals have an amazing effect on humans. My husband Mike and our daughters, Meg, Madison, and Julianne have been holding farm days for Sonoma Heights Elementary students for the past 10 years. I hope to continue this tradition for years to come. Lowry students and staff show me daily how resilient they are and how powerful human connection can be. GO BUCKS!
