I am very excited to be your teacher this year! This is my eighth year at Crocker, and I teach CC7/8 Math, Algebra 1, and Flex.
I was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, where I earned a degree in Nutritional Science with a focus on Dietetics from the University of British Columbia. I taught cooking and nutrition at a community center during my undergrad and discovered my love for teaching. I returned to UBC to complete a degree in Education with an emphasis on Middle School Education. Over the last 20 years, I have taught Science and all Math levels from CC6 Math to Integrated Mathematics II.
Geometry is my favorite math strand because it integrates many concepts. Pi is my favorite number, and Pi Day is my birthday (along with Albert Einstein and Steph Curry)!
When I'm not teaching, I coordinate weddings and tutor students in Math. I love ice cream, trying new restaurants, going to musicals, the theater, and the ballet, traveling, snowboarding, reading, listening to audiobooks, watching movies and series, needle crafts, gardening, flowers (especially peonies, dahlias, and tulips), and hanging out with my daughter and our dog. I also love Hello Kitty, Harry Potter, and the movie, Elf!
I look forward to getting to know you! We are going to have a great year!
