Flex period is a quiet place to read silently for fun for the first 20 minutes. The remaining time will be used to complete homework, seek help with organization and homework, and prepare for upcoming tests and quizzes. You may use this time to request to see other teachers if they are available to meet with you. Please ask for permission to leave class for any reason.

Be in your seat and have your materials out when the bell rings.
Work independently and be focused during class.
Respect people and school property.

fiction/non-fiction reading book
supplies
your homework assignments
Chromebook (used only for school purposes, no games)
CLASS WORK EXPECTATIONS
Students will be graded daily on the following:
1. Silent reading
4 points - has a reading book and reads for 20 minutes
3 points - has a reading book and has not read for 20 minutes
2 points - has no book and is reading a borrowed book
1 point - has a book but did not read
0 points - has no book and did not read
2. Preparedness
4 points - on time, has all materials, or made responsible efforts to retrieve needed materials
3 points - late with all materials OR on time, has most materials
2 points - on time with all materials, but not working
1 point - on time but has no materials
0 points - made no effort and brought no materials
3. Productivity
4 points - spent the entire period working and focused, and did not distract others
3 points - was focused for the most part and did not distract others
2 points - was focused for half of the class, but distracted others no more than once
1 point - not productive or distracted others more than once
0 points - not productive and continued to distract others
