Helpful Hints

The following are helpful hints and information to be aware of as your child begins PreK:

(Please note, information is subject to change as we continue to hear from NYS on guidance toward reopening schools.)

• It is Hamburg Central School District’s policy that a government issued photo ID is required to be shown before entering any building in the district.

UPK Regular Hours: Monday–Friday

FULL DAY: 9:00-3:00pm / AM session: 9:00-11:30am / PM session: 12:30-3:00pm

Breakfast and/or lunch will be provided for your child during the day, Monday thru Friday, depending on which class session they are scheduled for.

Supplies your child will need:

• Your child should wear play clothes and sneakers (sneakers are a MUST for the playground).

• A paint smock or large shirt for wearing while easel painting.

• Warm clothes for outdoor play on cooler/cold days (boots, mittens, snow pants for cold days).

• All clothing should be clearly labeled.

• Photograph of your child (an aid in identifying their coat hook)

• Appropriately sized backpack for carrying a folder and sneakers in the winter (no wheels, please).

• Extra set of bagged and labeled clothing (if needed, accidents happen!)

• Sweatshirt to be left in classroom in case of emergency evacuation in colder weather.

• Box of tissues for classroom.
