The Chromebook is a device we have provided for students and staff to maximize learning flexibility, collaboration and creativity.
Learn all about it below.
With just about every student in our district currently in possession of a Chromebook, we knew that we needed a solution for keeping track of what students do on their devices during class time. Teachers in grades 5-12 have access to a tool called Vision which allows you to get a glimpse of what is happening on a student's Chromebook without having to be watching over their shoulder continually.
Below are a series of videos and activities created to introduce students (or staff) to the basics of Chromebook use and navigation.
The lessons are presented in a way to provide you with content you can assign to your students via Google Classroom. Here are the steps, as an example:
Create an Assignment in Google Classroom called "Getting to know your Chromebook - Lesson 1"
Attach the Lesson 1 video to the Assignment
Attach the Student task (a quick activity for students to complete that demonstrates their understanding)
Attach the Google Form Assessment (a quick 3-6 question quiz that highlights what was covered in the video)
Students then engage with the Assignment by watching the video, and completing the task and assessment.
In this lesson, we go over two ways to take a screenshot on a Chromebook.
In this lesson, we look at the Google Play Store and Chrome Web Store and install apps from each.
In this lesson, we look at how to fix the most common problems on your Chromebook.
