Staff will continue to prioritize SEL (Social Emotional Learning) time and connection discussions/activities.
Free play and recess will continue to be implemented regularly into schedules.
Increased awareness for staff regarding strategies to support our ELL (English Language Learners) students and our McKinney - Vento students.
The SST (Student Support Team) process will be discussed throughout the year so that all staff have a strong, common understanding of the process.
Last year we started 10 minute daily math fact practice. We will continue this and track data to see if automaticity is improving.
Discussion about SEL time will occur at staff meetings and Core to reiterate the importance even with the change in schedule and increased flexibility over when it occurs.
Second staff meeting will teach about the benefits of free play and the importance for children. It will be linked to recess time. This will continue to be woven into staff learning throughout the school year.
Guest speakers will present during staff meetings to educate on strategies that can be used in our classroom to best support integration and learning for our ELL and McKinney- Vento populations.
We will continue to discuss with our staff their own professional learning needs and how we can meet those needs during our staff meetings.
Staff and admin will break down and analyze the SST process at staff meetings and during intervention block meeting time with the goal of creating a strong common understanding and practice of the process and how it is used to support our students. Specifically, the referral process, prioritizing essential skills, creating a targeted goal, collecting growth data, and the committee approach will be analyzed.
Ten minute daily math fact practice will continue to be implemented in the classroom. Staff will use a variety of strategies and resources to practice automatically.
Staff will continue to prioritize SEL time. We will see this time be prioritized in the daily routines of our classrooms.
Our recess log will evidence classrooms utilizing recess time on a regular basis.
Questions about basic information regarding ELL and unhoused students will decrease and strategies to improve school-wide integration and learning will improve.
SST paperwork will be completed reflecting interventions that target the concerns with appropriate data. SST discussions will reflect more of a teamwork brainstorming approach and hone in on the specific what, why’s and how’s of interventions and data collection.
Math fact accuracy will show steady improvements using 4th grade Math Fu data.
