Being a CTE Scholar means that a student has completed specific requirements throughout their high school career and is eligible to receive a RED cord at graduation for their accomplishments. These students must apply to be a CTE Scholar, so that we can double check their accomplishments, and if approved, will be invited to attend a ceremony at Blue Ridge Community College in May to honor their achievements.

The requirements to be a CTE Scholar are as follows:
- Be a Senior
- Must have completed 4 CTE courses, one of which must be a completer course (see CTE Courses page within my website for this chart)
- Must have a 3.25 minimum unweighted GPA in all CTE courses
- Must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0
- Must be a current and active member of a CTE student organization (FCCLA, FBLA, DECA, HOSA, FFA, Skills USA only) This DOES NOT include cooking club.
- Complete application by the deadline and return to their club sponsor.
