A Letter to the Parents and Guardians

To Our Hawkins County Families,

We know that the past two weeks have been stressful for children and families alike. It is the goal of the Hawkins County School System to bring as much normalcy as possible to our students.

Please know that our school staffs are continuing to work hard each day to provide your family with the resources you may need. We hope that you understand that we are in no way requesting that you attempt to have a full day of school at home each day. Reading to and with your child is one of the greatest things you can do to help your child learn but also to enjoy time with your child. Take time to discuss what you have read, ask questions and hear your child’s opinions. Take some time every day for physical activity or take a walk and have some family fun!

We have provided links to resources for students on our website and individual teachers may be providing additional learning opportunities through google classrooms. If you are in need of paper copies or books to read with your child, simply contact your child’s teacher or principal and we will have these prepared for you.

We feel fortunate to live and work in Hawkins County and hope that you will reach out to us if we can help you during this time. We miss your children and look so forward to the times when our halls are filled with learning and laughter again.
