Additional Notes for SummitK12-TELPAS
Can data be viewed at an individual student level (e.g., instructional level by the student, standards by the student)?
Yes, teachers can view an individual student's scores on assessments, progress on their Personalized Learning Plan, and grades for quizzes. They can also download an individual student progress report.
Does our data reflect individual student proficiency for standards that span grade levels (i.e., on grade level, below grade level, above grade level)?
Yes, data reflects the student's Proficiency Level Descriptor (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Advanced High) based on completed Benchmark Assessments.
Are assessment cycles for certain assessments sufficiently short and reliable to enable teachers and students to make weekly instructional decisions - ACT on the data?
Yes, assessments are recommended for the beginning of the year, middle of the year, and end of the year. Assessments are typically 20 questions each and can be completed in a class period.
Do our data sources accommodate these types of teacher moves: 1) weekly level of planning in various learning environments; 2) which students to include in small groups, or schedule 1:1 instruction; 3) what students learned each week?
1.) Yes, we have pacing guides for teachers and provide Personalized Learning Plans that are differentiated and adapted to each student.
2.) Teachers can view reports that provide students' current Proficiency Level and can create groups based on the data.
3.) Yes, teachers can access usage and progress reports each week to track student progress.
HCISD Data Inventory Pressure Test: Which assessments met all three requirements above?
Summit K12-TELPAS
Please provide an example of how the data from each of the assessments identified could guide instruction.
Summit K12 - Allows the teacher to grow/increase language proficiency for EB students. The assessments' progress monitoring reports will help identify individual proficiency level weaknesses and strengths by school, class, or student. The personalized learning plans will provide each student with the differentiated instruction they need to accelerate learning. Comparison data from the previous testing year will help identify growth and proficiency weaknesses. Lesson Models will help guide the teachers in providing high-quality research-based language development strategies.
