Faculty Mentors

Faculty welcome opportunities to work collaboratively, sharing pedagogical innovations and classroom strategies.  Learning from one another, the faculty mentors provide support and feedback focused on innovative ways to engage with students. Moreover, a mentoring program has the strong potential to support important aspects of the strategic plan, particularly in terms of the college’s focus on building more equitable teaching practices and learning culture. Faculty want to develop skills in inclusive and culturally relevant pedagogy,  strategies for the retention and success of marginalized students, and fostering a sense of belonging in the classroom. The Faculty Mentor program provides the need for longer-term and more intensive discussions of our classroom practices.
