Arrival and Dismissal
The school day begins at 8:05. Children should not arrive at school prior to 7:55. Children who do arrive to school before the 7:55 bell rings will be asked to sit in the office. At 7:55 our gates open. Students are welcome to enter the class and prepare for the day as soon as they walk through the gates. Students are dismissed from our classroom at 2:26. Thursday dismissal is at 1:15.
Attendance
Regular school attendance is critical to the learning process. Our school day officially starts at 8:05 a.m. If your child is absent, call the school attendance line (714) 963-8985 or email us at: moffettattendance@hbcsd.us
Recess Snack- 10:30-10:50
I have found it beneficial for students to have a small, nutritional snack at our 10:30 recess. Students may also play on the Moffett playground or attend our BFF program during snack recess.
Lunch- 12:15- 1:00
Room 20 goes to lunch from 12:15-1:00. The school cafeteria serves lunch daily free of charge. Each lunch includes milk or juice. A lunch menu can be found inside your child's homework folder and online here.
Parent Volunteers
Moffett loves parent volunteers! Please let me know if you are interested in volunteering for Art Masters or BFF.
Homework Folder
The Homework Folder is a tool that your child will use everyday. The purpose is to aid in the development of organizational skills and foster responsibility. This folder will go home each day and needs to be returned each day.
Yellow Weekly File
It is important to keep the lines of communication between home and school open. This yellow file is a way of helping your child become accountable for those communications. Yellow weekly files will go home each Monday and need t be returned Tuesday morning. Inside the file parents will find a communication log, which needs to be signed weekly, school flyers, and graded work.
Homework Logs
A Homework Log will go home weekly in the Homework Folder. Parents and students can review the nightly homework together, and parents are required to sign the log each Thursday evening.
