Academic support is available to all students at Hayden Catholic High School.
- If a student has an IEP, a Catholic School Student Support Plan in compliance with Section 504, or a SIT Plan, the student’s accommodations and minor adjustments in the plan will be provided so that the student may be able to succeed in the classroom.
- Support through access to an evening Study Hall will be open to all students. Any students, regardless of ability, will have available to them, but not limited to, the following services:
- Test Taking—a separate, quiet environment; read-aloud services for students on plans; re-take or make-up tests.
- Tutoring
- Homework assistance/completion
- Assistance in credit recovery (with approval of classroom teacher and administration).
- Study Skills
- A liaison between classroom teacher and student
- Conferencing with teachers and parents to support the student’s progress in the classroom
- The Support Service Coordinator along with Counselors will monitor struggling students, and conference with the students, their teachers, and their parents whenever necessary. This is to assure the academic support is as comprehensive as possible to serve the student’s needs. The student, in turn, has the responsibility to take full advantage of the services provided and to act in response to the support.
Any questions regarding academic support for students should be directed to the Support Service Coordinator, Judy Cucciniello cuccinielloj@haydencatholic.net , or to any of the Counselors.
