Grading Scale

GRADING Procedures: (Opportunity for 10 points = 5 From RPACS / 5 Polar)

Students will earn 5 Points based on the following EVERYDAY:

  1. RPACS (Responsibility, Participation, Attitude, Cooperation, Sportsmanship)- Student is actively involved, is consistent in effort, develops good work habits in warm-ups and activities, follows directions, uses appropriate language, and displays sportsmanship and respect. Student shows respect for peers, teachers, equipment and facilities. Student demonstrates responsibility by being on time and wearing appropriate Middle School North Uniform with laced shoes. Students can lose more than 1 point for each portion of RPACS if they require multiple prompting or display excessive lack of effort and attitude/bad sportsmanship.

2. Polar Heart Rate Monitor (See chart below): Target Heart Rate Zone will be assigned by teacher discretion each day.

  • Students will be graded on 3 domains:
      • Psychomotor (10% of overall grade): Technique and form during skill based assessment such as throwing, catching, sports specific movements, and fitness based technique
      • Cognitive (10% of overall grade): Homework assignments, quizzes, checks for understanding, and application of fitness and sports based activity.
      • Affective (80% of overall grade): Daily grades including effort during heart rate monitors and RPACS (See above)
