Where we are today

In the past decade the LGBTQ+ community has made major strides in obtaining rights, spreading awareness, and forming safe spaces all throughout the world. But there is still much to be done and the dreams of the members of this community are broad and far reaching.

After Marriage Equality, What's Next For The LGBT Movement?One commentator worries that, going forward, other serious issues for LGBT Americans may garner less support "because it's just not as fun to be involved in" as in the marriage equality movement.

Hopes for the future

The ideas spread throughout the community come far and wide, with majorly different ideas of how the world will look in the next 20 years. Between hopes of a LGBTQ+ president, a shift away from divisive terms and a coming together of the different groups of the community, many members hope for a bright future where the newer generations don't have to be part of the fight for their own basic rights. But there are also more scared views, with members being afraid that they will still be fighting for base rights with infighting as well with members on how to best move forward.
