Goal: To refine and establish Department Action Plan and Assessment for SY2018-2019 to address the areas of need and support for students’ language learning in World Language (WL) Program at Niu Valley Middle School (NVMS).
Description: The NVMS WL Department Action Plan and Assessment for SY2018-2019 is developed with the alignment of three goals that addressed in our school three-year Academic Plan. These three goals are Student Success, Staff Success and Successful Systems of Support. The NVMS WL Department Action Plan for SY2018-2019 focuses on empowering student's voice, engaging students in their foreign language acquisition, and develop or continue to make progress in four language domains with implementation of multiple learning and teaching approaches; integration of technology tools to support students learning, focusing on formative learning instruction strategies and real-world connection, teacher collaboration in Collaborative Inquiry Team and department curriculum planning, teacher professional development, and continuation of the transition plan for NVMS WL students advance to High School Year 2 Chinese and/or Japanese course via implementation of High School Year 1 World Language online course by NVMS World Language Department.
