Our Mission:
Our mission is to encourage high school students and give them opportunities to explore the various modes of transportation (land, sea, air, and transit) through site visits and classroom lessons. Lectures are held by local professionals in the transportation field, includes field trips to transportation sites around Honolulu.

Meet our Team:
Dr. Roger Chen, Director - Dr. Chen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Chen received his PhD from the University of Maryland, College Park, and BS and MS degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, all in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He focuses on understanding and modeling the human dimensions of smart and connected cities, and mobility services. Dr. Chen is currently a member of the TRB Standing Committees on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and Travel (AEP35) and Traveler Behaviors and Values (AEP30).

Saber Esmaeili Ghayoumabadi, Graduate Assistant.
Mr. Esmaeili Ghayoumabadi is a master’s student in Civil Engineering at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, with a focus on transportation. Mr. Esmaeili Ghayoumabadi will also serve as the camp van driver.
