All selected Freshman Bridge participants for the 2024 cohort will need to sign up for and take the UH Mānoa Math Placement Exam. Your score on this placement exam will determine what summer math course you can enroll in.

The Math Placement Exam is a required exam for the UHM Math Department. Your score will allow you to register for certain math courses.
Yes, all students who will be enrolling at UH Mānoa and plan to register for a Math course as well as students who will be participating in the Freshman Bridge 2024 cohort will need to take this Placement exam prior to starting classes in the summer 2023.
There are a few exceptions to taking the Math Placement Exam. Visit the link below and scroll down to "Exceptions" - listed here are alternate options that students might qualify for and thus, may not need to take the Placement exam.
Visit the link below - there are practice exams for both Part 1 and Part 2. You may only take the Math Placement Exam once during each of the testing periods, so we encourage students to take both practice exams.
