As part of my Second Language Studies graduate program, one of the most impactful experiences I had was completing the SLS 690 Teaching Practicum at Ubon Ratchathani University in Thailand. For two months, I served as an English in Business instructor for A1-level undergraduate students in the Faculty of Business. I designed and implemented lesson plans tailored to both their language proficiency and academic focus, incorporating real-world tasks and communicative strategies. The course culminated in a final project where students presented their work and received a medal and certificate of completion. This practicum allowed me to apply principles of task-based language teaching, intercultural awareness, and student-centered learning in a real classroom setting, further shaping my skills as a reflective, adaptive, and culturally responsive educator.
